This policy explains what Saylore collects, why, and how to control your data. Plain English, no dark patterns.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, password hash (or sign-in provider identifier).
- Learning data: the language and level you're studying, lessons completed, vocabulary you're learning, streak history.
- Conversation & speaking data: messages you send to the AI tutor, transcripts of your speaking practice, and short audio recordings used to score your pronunciation.
- Device data: device model, OS version, app version, language, region, and crash logs.
How we use it
- To run the app: keep your progress, sync between devices, and personalise lessons to your level.
- To improve the tutor: aggregate, de-identified data is used to make corrections and explanations better.
- To support you: help us answer your messages when you contact us.
- To process subscriptions: billing is handled by Apple or Google; we receive only the receipt.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't run ads.
- We don't use your private conversations to train third-party AI models.
Who we share it with
A small set of processors that help us run the service — cloud hosting, error monitoring, customer support, and the AI providers that power the tutor. Each is bound by a written agreement to handle your data only as we instruct.
Where data lives
Saylore is hosted on cloud infrastructure in the European Union and the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for any cross-border transfers.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time. Use Profile → Account inside the app, or email [email protected]. If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you also have the rights granted by GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA respectively.
Children
Saylore is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
